Tjalve is today committed to making athletics more accessible, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone – regardless of age, ability, or background. With a strong presence in Norwegian athletics, the club has grown into one of the country’s largest, with a wide range of athletes across different levels and disciplines.
In addition to organizing the major youth event Tjalvelekene, Tjalve also supports Bislett Games – Norway’s largest international track and field competition – as part of the event team and logistical operations. The club also organizes Holmenkollstafetten, the world’s largest relay race, which brings together tens of thousands of runners each year.
Through these events, as well as partnerships with schools and local communities, Tjalve actively promotes public health and engagement in athletics. The aim is to inspire more people to experience the joy and benefits of physical activity – whether as participants, volunteers, or supporters.
By organizing Boysen Memorial, Tjalve also hopes to further increase community involvement and contribute to promoting the joy of sports and the importance of staying active.
Safeguarding
Tjalve is also committed to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
As part of our safeguarding efforts, all athletes, volunteers, and coaches are encouraged to complete the World Athletics Safeguarding e-learning course (link in PDF below), which provides important knowledge about safety, respect, and protection in sports.
We also promote awareness of mental and physical wellbeing through posters, email communication, and on-site visibility.
If you have any concerns during the event, you can reach out to the Event Safeguarding Officer.
