At Boysen Memorial, athlete safety is our top priority.

While Bislett Stadium provides a sheltered and controlled environment, we remain prepared for extreme weather scenarios. Following World Athletics’ guidelines, we have contingency plans in place to ensure a safe experience for all participants and spectators.

Weather Alerts & Response

In the event of extreme heat, heavy rain, lightning, or other adverse weather conditions, updates will be communicated via our website, social media channels, and venue announcements.
Some events may be rescheduled, or relocated to indoor facilities.

Extreme Heat Preparedness

  • Drinking water available throughout the stadium
  • Designated shaded and ventilated rest areas
  • Cooling options indoors when necessary
  • Heat-related guidance will be shared in advance with athletes and team staff
  • We follow the Beat the Heat guidance by World Athletics

Participant Guidance

  • Stay updated on weather forecasts and official communications
  • Wear light, breathable clothing and use sun protection
  • Stay hydrated before, during, and after competition
  • If you feel unwell or show signs of heat stress, seek medical help immediately

Our Commitment

We work closely with the Tjalve organizing team, Bislett Stadium staff, medical personnel, and event volunteers to ensure health and safety procedures are in place and ready to activate if necessary.
